Ka-ná-tah (Eng-gí: Canada), mā ū kì Kha-ná-tah, ia̍h sī kóng Ka-ná-tāi, sī tiàm tī Pak Bí-chiu ê kok-ka. Thó͘-tē biān-chek sī sè-kài tē-jī tōa. Ka-ná-tah lâm-pêng sī Bí-kok, sai-pak-pêng mā kap Bí-kok ê chiu Alaska(A-lá-sú-kah) sio-chiap.

Au-chiu-lâng khì kàu ūi chìn-chêng Ka-ná-tah chāi-tê bô bûn-su kì-lio̍k, chóng-sī chiàu khó-kó͘ gián-kiù kiam kháu-thâu thoân-thóng, ē-ēng-tit chai-iáⁿ chē-chē tāi-chì.

10 sè-kí bóe í-keng ū Norse(No͘-lú-su) lâng khì kah Pak Bí, tī Newfoundland(Niú-hong-lân) ū chhōe--tio̍h saⁿ ūi hŏng jīn-ûi sī No͘-lú-su lâng ê chng-siā. Ū chèng-kú thang chai No͘-lú-su kap Inuit pat sio-thâi, āu--lâi koh kiàn-li̍p khí seng-lí koan-hē. Chóng-sī No͘-lú-su tè-bóe iū koh lî-khui.

I-tá-li-a ê kiâⁿ-chûn-ka Giovanni Caboto(Jio-bá-nih Ka-bó-toh), tī 1497 nî tùi Eng-lân chhut-hoat, beh chhōe khì A-sè-a ê hái-lō͘, chóng-sī lō͘-tô͘ tiong tō kòe-sin, i-ê hāu-seⁿ soah hoat-kiàn Newfoundland ê hái-kîⁿ. Bô-lōa-kú Phû-tô-gâ, Se-pan-gâ, Hoat-lân-se ê lâng mā khì hū-kīn Tāi-se-iûⁿ pak-lō͘ lia̍h-hî, tang-tiong ū-ê tō ū chiūⁿ-hōaⁿ.
